pointless update
work done, revision started, exams soon, 2 pints on shelf, snooker to be played, grand prix to be looked forward to, running to be done, weekly visits to the gym to be remembered, magazines to be read, a guitar to be re-strung and food to be eaten. oh and the clock next to me is 6 minutes fast and is to be changed.

March weather, the British way
OK it's March 22nd and for 8 days we've had pure sun and cloudless skies... I've been living in shorts, t-shirt, flip flops and sunglasses for the best part of a week. Only in this country. But now I have to stay inside and revise while most other people are arriving home from uni :(
But Mastodon have kindly decided to release an album tomorrow which is nice of them.

Some un-F1 related news (for once)
Ok I may have been boring people with the F1 stuff but that's what happens when all of a sudden Button has a chance to thrash everyone come the 1st GP while Hamilton tootles around the back in last place.
ANYWAY, it is thursday evening and I have only 1 deadline (2 weeks away), so little work, a nice lie in tomorrow (nothing 'til 2.15...), only a couple more weeks to endure before a nice break and in the short term a weekend ofheavy drinking relaxing... life is guuuuuuuuuuud

Some nice F1-related quotes
"If it stays like this, Brawn GP will be all by themselves at the front in Melbourne" ~ Vettel
"Ferrari, Brawn, or BMW are, right now, unreachable" ~ Alonso
"They are one second faster than us. It can't be real." ~ Ferrari technician
"When I arrived here I was still optimistic as far as our chances are concerned. Now I am not optimistic any more." ~ Flavio
"If they can repeat these laptimes in Melbourne which were set by Button on Wednesday morning during his long stint, Button and Barrichello will win the Australian Grand Prix by one lap advantage." ~ Sam Michael
"The team have had more time for developing the 2009's car than the others. It seems to pay off." ~ Norbert Haug
"Before Barcelona we were one of the quickest on the circuit, we were very competitive, in the leading pack. Now we're competitive, but behind Brawn. No one can do the same times. Everyone was using less fuel, not only them. But their times were much faster than those that anyone else could do." ~ Massa
Massa: Brawn GP are "unreachable, for all of us"
"Button!" ~ Robert Kubica on who he'd put his money on to win in Melbourne

random update
have wasted another day, but feel like i've achieved something by achieving nothing at all. chose sleep over lectures and will probably learn more from copying out the notes than I would have had I actually been there.
meanwhile i was recently a thinkin' of putting £20 on mark webber for the F1 drivers title because the odds are nice at 99:1 (and with the bookies £10 intro offer: £3K from £20? yes please) and that RB05 looks quick. But I have a hunch Vettel will be quicker. But then again for 2 days of testing in a row Timo Glock looks quickest, and I wouldn't put a peanut on him. As in bet-wise, I probably wouldn't be too against physically placing a peanut somewhere on his body, but that's another story for another day.

working his little odd socks off
was up til 3ish revising yesterday, up 6.30 this morning and still here, now drawing a gearbox. since when was my course a drawing degree?! I can only draw stupid childish cartoons of stuff that comes into my head in lectures, like the soop monster, and that kid sliding down the slide into a fiery pit of death, not full working drawings with each line to a perfect milimetre to british standards
go away gearbox assignment, seriously, you're NOT FUNNY

he says cramming for an exam tomorrow morning at 8 whilst thinking about how to start a 5 week assignment to be handed in on thursday and wondering when he'll make excel work so he can start his lab report due in also on thursday
also, honda f1 looks to be saved
oh no wait
oh yes it is
oh no hang on
oh wait
anyway, what is the point in sport?
it just continues and continues, year after year, season after season
maybe thats why i love it
